It’s about you, not me
I want you symptom free!
If we can’t achieve this we will put you in the hands of someone who can, e.g. an orthopaedic surgeon.
I'm a perfectionist & will get grumpy if you come back with the same symptoms
I promise, if I can't help you, to get you the help you need

Dean Dickinson

Chartered & HCPC registered Physiotherapist

GOsC Registered Osteopath
HCPC Reg. (PH100615) Independent Prescriber

SENIOR First contact practitioner
Advanced Practice Physio & Osteopath

Dean is highly fortunate to have had over 20 years in physical therapy, having qualified initially from the British School of Osteopathy, London, in 2002. He then obtained a postgraduate diploma (PG Dip.) in Classical Osteopathy from the John Wernham College of Classical Osteopathy. From there, he completed many Postgraduate courses in the UK, Europe and the USA in Cranial, Paediatric and Obstetric Osteopathy.

He started an MSc in Osteopathy, only for the course to be discontinued after module two. This left him at a loose end, and he started to undertake more work in the fields of primitive reflexes, movement science, paediatrics, naturopathy, human factors engineering & occupational health (going on to work for companies such as EDF Energy, Costain, Cross Rail Network, London 2012, MOD and BAE).

He was then offered the opportunity to study for another BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy at Brunel University, London, which he completed in 2012. Since then, he has completed further training in the UK and US in Functional Movement Science, NIKE golf biomechanics, medical acupuncture, shockwave therapy and applied kinesiology.

Dean has taught in the UK and Europe for many years, both at an undergraduate and postgraduate level. He has worked in professional sports with AFC Wimbledon, Woking FC and many professional athletes. Over the years, Dean has worked solo in GP surgeries, private clinics, NHS clinics and within large multi-disciplinary teams/clinics (often owned and directed by himself).

He is currently studying Nutritional Medicine with a strong focus on nutrition, ancestral health, and functional medicine with the main aim of getting to the root cause of a person’s problem to provide a long-term effective resolution of a problem rather than just palliating or managing it.

In 2019, he graduated with a postgraduate certificate (PG Cert.) in Independent Prescribing at the Medway School of Pharmacy, allowing Dean to use pharmaceutical drugs to treat pain and inflammation if required. Dean has undergone further MSc-level training in injection therapy, MSK ultrasonography, and Advanced MSK practice at the University of Essex, where he will also be completing an MSc in Musculoskeletal Practice in 2025. Dean is a trained Phlebotomist who regularly takes blood samples for blood analysis.

Dean works as a Senior First Contact Practitioner (FCP) in the NHS and currently consults with several third-party companies supplying this service. Dean completed a PG Cert in FCP in December 2024.

Dean tries to keep fit and active these days after years of abusing his body playing rugby, cricket, hockey, and athletics. These days, it’s a 5k run, Rugby referring and playing Touch Rugby will a load of other middle-agers that keeps him ticking over. Dean is the proud father of Lucia, Isla and Florence and spends most of his spare time ferrying them around the country playing rugby.
